Tangkuban Perahu is one of West Java’s most important tourist attractions which sits just north of Bandung on the outskirts of the town of Lembang. Most visitors to Tangkuban Perahu are from Indonesia and choose to drive their own vehicles the 4km to the top of the volcano from the entrance gate.
The main reason Tangkuban Perahu is so popular is that it is one of the few volcanoes in Indonesia where it is possible to drive right to the edge of the crater. In fact, there are three main craters at Tangkuban Perahu — Kawah Ratu, Kawah Upas and Kawah Domas.
